Benefits of Dandelion Root Tea
You know those spiky-leaved weeds with bright yellow flowers shooting up from the center that are growing in your grass? Well, they could be dandelions, and it turns out they have some pretty cool health perks! Dandelion is thought to support the liver as well as the digestive and urinary systems.
Dandelion root is bitter, meaning it can help kickstart the digestive process (more enzymes and juices to better absorb food!). And it’s also rich in a type of fiber called inulin, which can help support a healthy gut microbiome (and more).
Also cool? When roasted, dandelion root develops a deep, earthy flavor reminiscent of coffee!
Best Dandelion Tea
When looking for dandelion tea that makes a good coffee replacement, our favorites are products with roasted (vs. raw) dandelion root (vs. leaves) and those that also include chicory root. Here are our top picks:
1st Place: Teeccino Dandelion Dark Roast – has a very convincing coffee flavor that might fool someone into thinking they’re drinking coffee!2nd Place: Sip Herbals – slightly more herbal in flavor, but with nice roasted notes — a great option for those wanting wholesome ingredients3rd Place: Dandy Blend – third place, but still very tasty and reminiscent of coffee!
How to Make a Dandelion Tea Latte
This creamy, dreamy dandelion latte begins with steeping your tea bag in boiling water.

Next, we blend up the brewed tea with cashew butter, creating a rich, creamy consistency without the need to add any milk.

Then we add maple syrup for sweetness plus a combination of vanilla and cinnamon to bring warmth to this chilly weather delight!

After blending, it becomes super frothy, just like your favorite barista-made drink, but with better ingredients!

We hope you LOVE this dandelion latte! It’s:
Creamy
Rich
Warming
Vanilla- & cinnamon-spiced
Naturally sweetened
& SO comforting!
It’s the ultimate caffeine-free coffee replacement packed with health benefits!

Notes
*We like Teeccino Dandelion Dark Roast for a very convincing coffee replacement! Our other top choices are Sip Herbals and Dandy Blend. We find dandelion root plus chicory root provides a better flavor than dandelion root alone. We tested this with Traditional Medicinals plain dandelion root tea and felt it wasn’t as good of a coffee replacement, but more of a wholesome drink that’s herbal in nature.
*Not all Teeccino flavors are gluten-free, but the Teeccino Dandelion Dark Roast is certified gluten-free by the Gluten Intolerance Group of North America. Check the ingredient section on specific flavors if Celiac or gluten-intolerant.
*For a cashew-free version or if you’d prefer to use dairy-free milk, brew the dandelion tea in 1/2 cup water and add 1/2 cup milk of choice (we recommend a blend of almond + coconut) to the blender with the remaining ingredients.
*Nutrition information is a rough estimate calculated with the lesser amount of maple syrup.
